We are extremely pleased with how this new system and alternator have worked out, and we can provide the alternator for purchase is you have a similar engine. It already runs just fine on bio-diesel, and the next step will be to convert it to run on straight vegetable oil (SVO).

Wood-Fired Steam Engine 2kw Backup Battery Charger
We always have lots of work to do in the wind turbine shop, but it's OK to have some FUN now and then isn't it? We recently got this vintage steam engine running, and built a 2kw axial-flux alternator for it. It's a great backup battery charger for the shop, and allows us to say "We get our electricity from firewood!" Plus it's a heck of a lot of fun to run! You can hear the steam whistle from 2 miles away when we get a full head of steam built up and start making power.
