Folks who make electricity from scratch are on the cutting edge of low technology. Most of our ideas at Otherpower.com hatch from the previous experiments of many neighbors, friends and others who we have never met. The free exchange of information has made this possible--and it's truly amazing that this exchange is now worldwide.

If you have a website that relates to alternative energy, remote power, experimental science, remote living or most places in between, please Click Here to send us an Email. Be sure to include what category you'd like to be listed under. We'll review it and possibly include your link on our site. Personal websites are fine--you don't have to be a business. We request that you link back to us. Any link that frequently malfunctions may be removed at our discretion. If you think your link is relevant and not covered by one of our categories, we are always open to adding more categories. And feel free to send in link ideas for sites that are not yours, also--we'll contact them for a link exchange. And please be patient -- we review link requests every few months and and add them all at once.

Link Guidelines:

We receive so many link requests that we are forced to become more selective in which sites we link to, or else our links page will become hard to use--please review these guidelines before submitting.

• The link should be directly related to one of the categories listed on our links page, or be interesting to our readers in some way we don't yet have a category for. We are gradually eliminating unrelated links and won't accept any more, except within our categories. For example, battery links are great even though there's no category yet, but if you are selling jewelled dog collars we won't link.
• Linked websites must be easily viewable with any browser. We don't use Microsoft® products within our company, and will be looking at your website with Firefox or Mozilla. Flash animations and such are fine, but we won't be able to see them, so make sure your important content is not within any special plug-ins.
• We scan for broken links with automated software every couple months. If your site is temporarily down, it's no problem. If it's still down the next time, we'll remove the link.
• Our Google search rank is extremely good! So we are happy to be able to spread this around and help the scores of our collegues in the business too. If it's your personal website and there's lots of pictures, beware--the increased bandwidth from links has crashed people's personal sites and cost them over-bandwidth fees. If this happens, or if your site link changes to a new address, contact us and we'll remove or change the link. We honor such requests immediately.
