Buckville Sawmill Action

Fun day at the historic Yahoo Sawmill in Buckville!
Ward needed some 8x8 posts to get going on completing his house, and some dandy big beetle-killed Ponderosa pines blew down in the gales of last winter....
Powered by the PTO on a 1948 FarmAll H, the saw blade dates back farther than that (you can still buy new teeth inserts). Carb rebuild kit on the tractor was all that was needed.

Midnite Solar Rapid Shutdown System

The new 2014 National Electrical Code (NEC 2014) contains a somewhat controversial new rule intended to protect firefighters who have to work on rooftops where solar photovoltaic (PV) systems are installed - Article 690.12, Rapid Shutdown of PV Systems on Buildings.

It requires a shutdown system with which emergency responders can de-energize the entire solar array within 10 seconds from a clearly-marked central switch before venturing onto a rooftop for firefighting.
